Arian Web Shop iOS App Prototype by Mihailo Despotovic, January 2014

A web shop iPhone app prototype for Arian GmbH, a printing company in Gleisdorf, Austria, from the time of my startup, MiRteh. It was meant to lead to a big project for Arian, which was later cancelled; my main contact there was Rok Planinšec. The prototype demoed product discovery, browsing and searching, a configurator that depends on the product, a shopping cart and account management. It is written in Objective-C for iOS 7, with a storyboard, from December 2013 to February 2014.

Try it

The app, rebuilt for the browser as it looked on an iPhone 5 with iOS 7: its screens as the storyboard lays them out, its pictures and texts, and its logic from the Objective-C. Browse the products, or search them; the Panoramic Canvas, under Marketing Ads, is the one with a configurator, of format, quantity and delivery. To shop, log in first under Account, with any name and password: the login was only pretended, as was the order. In the cart, tap an item to change it, or swipe it to the left to delete it.

The bugs

The real app, today

The original project, built with today's Xcode and run in the iOS simulator, on an iPhone SE, the nearest to the iPhone 5's screen. It needed only a newer minimum iOS version, and three small patches for the two crashes. Today's iOS draws it with its own navigation and tab bars, and, as the app was laid out for the iPhone 5 alone, puts some things where they don't belong: the cart's list doesn't show, and the storyboard's stray “Label” shows through the title. On the phone its name was Coolprint.
